The International Festival to Celebrate 100 Years of Contemporary Persian Litrature

.

The year 1300HS (1921) is a turning point in the history of contemporary Persian literature. Mohammad Ali Jamalzadeh with his collection of short stories entitled "Yeki Bud va Yeki Nabud", Nima Yoshij with "Afsaneh" Poetry, Hassan Moghadam with the drama "Jafar Khan Az Farang Bargashteh" and Morteza Mushfeq Kazemi with the novel "Tehran Makhoof", although not the definitive initiators of these emerging genres (prior to these works other prominent authors had written works in these genres) are, at least symbolically, registered as the architects of this new genre of Persian literature at the beginning of the fourteenth century HS.

Undoubtedly, the simultaneous emergence of new literary genres was not a sudden event. The developments that could be considered the culmination of the Constitutional Revolution (1285HS) (1906), more than being influential in the field of politics, reflected the significant social and cultural inspired by intellectual writers, who used literature as a basis for creating a new path and a new chapter in the history of classical Persian literature to breathe new life into and to reflect the events that the Iranians of the new century were gradually experiencing.

In any case, we feel that the pages of contemporary Persian literature should be carefully reviewed on its centenary and its authors and pioneers should be honored.

According to this, the management of international scientific collaborations at the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies intends to hold an international festival to celebrate 100 years of contemporary Persian literature, in cooperation with academic and cultural personalities, institutes and foundations both domestic and foreign.
